Ali Fowle is a broadcast journalist and documentary filmmaker based in South-East Asia.
Originally from Edinburgh, Ali graduated from City University, London, with a Masters in Television and Current Affairs Journalism. Passionate about investigative journalism and specialising in Burmese and South-East Asian affairs, she has lived and worked in the region since 2009.

Between 2009 and 2012 Ali worked full time for the highly-respected exiled Burmese media organisation, the Democratic Voice of Burma (DVB) in their English language TV section. Due to the political climate in Burma at the time, this work often involved filming in conflict zones and refugee camps along the Thai Burma border as well as creating promotional videos for free press campaigns.

Work produced in this period ranged from regular video news stories for the organisation’s website to editing and producing hour long documentaries syndicated to major news channels such as Al-Jazeera and SBS.

Currently based in Rangoon, Ali now works non-exclusively for media outlets including the BBC, AP and Asia Calling. As a dedicated video journalist with a wealth of experience in the region, she accepts work from the research and concept stage through to production, filming and editing.
