Originally from Edinburgh, Ali graduated from City University, London in 2009 with a Masters in Television and Current Affairs Journalism. Since then she has lived and worked in Southeast Asia gaining a wealth of experience in the region. Her work has taken her from major political events in city streets and seats of power to the seemingly inaccessible jungle front-lines of Southeast Asia’s troubled border regions.
Currently based in Myanmar, Ali works regularly but non-exclusively for the BBC. As a self-shooting producer/director and experienced video journalist she accepts work from the research and development stages through to production, filming and editing.
